New displays are emerging that do a wide variety of interesting things. Electronic paper, for instance, can mimic the way ink and paper go together in order to provide an easy way to take notes. Touch screen technologies are also emerging, as can be seen in the telecommunications industry that has recently been touting the benefits of having a mobile phone with touch screen capabilities designed within.
