Becoming a World of Warcraft Gold Generator. Auction House Domination

The auction house in Warcraft is a place where a lot of gold can be gained and lost very quickly. The reason for this is that, like all real life markets, the individual prices for an item at the auction house fluctuates all the time. Borean leather is 1g a piece one day, and 2g a piece the next

So it’s the variations that give you the player the opportunity to make and lose Warcraft gold. Selling to the NPC vendors that are dotted around the place does not offer variability. The prices they charge and buy for are fixed. SO if you have uncommon loot or decent crafting materials then these NPC vendors will not offer the best return for your efforts

If you are considering playing the auction house as if it were a market, then first you need to collect some data. 3G for 20copper ore might look like a bargain, but is it? Unless you have followed the price of copper ore for some time, then you don’t know.

To start with download the auctioneer add-on. Once installed, this tool will run a full scan of the auction house at the press of a button. Collecting the price for every item it finds and storing it. Early in the game just run the scan and get on with powerleveling, don’t bother playing the market yet

Once you have run auctioneer once a day for about ten days it will give you some decent average averages that are being asked for items.

Once the scans are complete, Auctioneer will have worked out the average asking price for every item if found. When you open the auction house GUI you will now see a percentage displayed on the right. This is the ratio of that items asking price to the average that auctioneer has found in its scans. 150% means it’s 50% over the average asking price, whereas 50% means it’s half the average asking price.

Using this detail, you can make decisions on what to buy and sell and more importantly when. But low and sell high. It works in Warcraft as well as the real world

However, before you rush off, there are a couple of very big potential pitfalls

As I mentioned, Auctioneer records the asking price, and not the selling price. People ask stupid amounts of gold for trash sometimes. Have you seen trash items in the auction house for 1000 gold or more? It happens all the time. This can massively skew the figures that auctioneer is collecting for you.

Another issue is the fact that the game changes all the time. Items are useful, and then a patch is issued that makes them worthless. Perhaps they were part of a crafting recipe that is no longer the best available. Or the stats for an item have been changed. Blizzard increase and decrease drop rates for items all the time. In a matter of days rare items become common and worth far less, or the opposite can happen. Auctioneer will not tell you this. If you have invested heavily in one or two items, a patch can wipe out loads of your profit of you don’t know what’s coming up

In summary, auctioneer is a good tool as long as you understand its limitations. It is not the only key to making Warcraft gold, but it does have a role to play. So if you plan on becoming a World of Warcraft gold generator, then download this addon now, but remember you will need more than this tool to make you gold rich.
