How Gaming Can Be Good

For many children, biking to the playground and playing kickball in the backyard have given way to watching television, playing their new kinect and spending hours online, but it’s never too late to get your kids off the couch and you can use a few simple tips that follow to give your kids a lifelong appreciation for activities that strengthen their bodies.
Set a good example
Children will follow the lead that you set for them.  It is important for a kid to be active for about an hour every day.  Parents can benefit from that rule too. Everyone will feel better for it.   It is a great bonding experience to take everyone to the local park to run around.  Talk about physical activity as an opportunity to take care of your body, rather than a punishment or a chore.  Allow your children the freedom to do these things.  Let the kids decide what they want to achieve and help them keep a record of what they are doing.  The best way for kids to lean something is by following the lead of the adults in their life so it is vital that you embody the same principles.
Limit screen time

A child needs to have some control over their activities.

Do not let getting physical activity seem like a chore. Get in the game.  Let each child take a turn choosing the activity of the day or week.  You can do things together that involve physical activity.  For your child’s next birthday, schedule a bowling party, take the kids to a climbing wall or set up relay races in the backyard.  Incorporating physical activity into your children’s lives sets the foundation for a lifetime of fitness and good health.
There is room or many things in a child’s life and that includes things that involve a screen.  The key is moderation.  The other key is to enjoy it with them.  A child will not be a loner because they play these systems.  They are now made to be interactive.  It lets a children socialize with other children.
